Reseach project
The design of systems for all is not a trivial task for user interface (UI) designers. Many aspects should be considered to enable the systems to make sense and be used in non-formal education of citizens in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). Extending the concept of user centred design to a meaningful portion of potential users would involve the participation of hundreds or thousands of people in this process. This research proposes the use of the human expertise to assist in the development of accessible interfaces for all, by using the Games With A Purpose (GWAP) approach. We propose to bring the user to the design processes, contributing to his/her construction of knowledge and co-participation. Initial analyses suggest the potential of using games with a purpose to help designers with regard to informed choices of UI elements in the design of systems for all.
